STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — New information and the cooperation of another individual have led Stevens Point Police to arrest Daniel Reese Jr in connection with a shooting incident in a mobile home on Torun Road.
Officers found Reese at the Econo Lodge on Highway 10 as they were setting up a perimeter around the facility. He was seen getting in a car with another individual and leaving the scene.
A short chase ensued but officers were able to cut the vehicle off and safely take both occupants into custody.
Reese was booked into the Portage County jail on charges of recklessly endangering safety, reckless injury, being a felony in possession of a firearm, and a probation warrant.
Officers found a handgun on Reese and other weapons in the vehicle including two rifles, a realistic-looking BB gun, and body armor.
The other individual was identified as Stephen Greco. No details on any potential charges against him were released.
Charges stem from a shooting incident Wednesday morning in which a man was shot in the leg inside a mobile home. He was listed in stable condition, though officers have not provided an update on his condition since the middle of last week.
A Weston man was originally taken into custody for the incident earlier this weekend, though through his cooperation and new information police were able to eliminate him as a suspect.
