WESTON, WI (WSAU) — The 8th annual Dani’s Journey fundraiser is this Saturday at Weston Lanes.
Organizer Marc Volkman says the event honors his daughter, Dani, who died in 2013 at the age of 16. “We focus [the fundraising] on healthy relationships and coping skills,” said Volkman. “How to deal with relationships whether it’s bad or good. That what we aim at, and that’s what The Women’s Community themselves recommended we fund.”
A portion of the funds will also go towards scholarships for high school students in the area.
The event centers on a nine-pin bowling event. Registration begins at 5 PM, with the first balls tossed at 6. But Volkman says they’ll also have raffle baskets and other fundraising efforts. Live music begins at 8 with Knock Point.
Bowling costs $20 per person. Admission for the live music and other events is free.
