NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks are scheduled to open the NBA’s Eastern Conference Playoffs on Easter Sunday.
The league announced the schedule for all eight Game 1s on Monday, with the Conference Quarterfinals series between Milwaukee and Chicago being one of the last series to get underway.
Tip time and national TV assignments for Sunday’s game will be announced later. Tickets for Sunday’s game and the other games of the first-round series are on sale through the Bucks ticket office, though buyers should note that dates and times for game 2 and the potential games 5 and 7 have not been set.
The winner of the series between the Bucks and the Bulls will play the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and the winner of the play-in tournament game for the 7 seed. That’s between the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Also on Monday the Bucks were awarded the NBA’s new Division Champion trophy. The Wayne Embry Trophy is named after the former player and Bucks GM, who was the first African-American to hold that post in league history. He also served as a GM in Toronto and Cleveland and was named Executive of the Year in 1992 and 1998.
It’s one of six trophies that the league has created to honor each division winner. The trophy features a clear basketball suspended on a gold and black base. Each trophy features a different segment of the ball in gold. The base features the winner’s name on the front, and final division standings on the back.
All six trophies are named after a different historic player.
