WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — With local election results from last Tuesday being finalized today, the attention of the region is quickly turning to the August primary ahead of the mid-terms in November.
Marathon County will play host to three candidates in those upcoming state-wide races today beginning at 10 AM when Republican candidate for Governor Rebecca Kleefisch will visit Bull Falls Brewing for a “special announcement” with 7th Congressional District Representative Tom Tiffany.
A news release from the Kleefisch campaign didn’t provide any further details on the visit.
At 3 PM Democratic Governor Tony Evers, who is running for re-election, will visit the DC Everest Senior High in Weston for an announcement regarding his “Get Kids Ahead” initiative, which was announced as part of his State of the State address.
That visit will be the second half of a two-stop tour that will first take the Governor to West Bend East High School at 1 PM.
Also at 3 PM Lieutenant Governor and US Senate candidate Mandela Barnes will kick off his “Barnes for Barns” tour at a farm outside Athens. He’s expected to discuss the challenges facing Wisconsin farmers.
Barnes will be joined by Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg and other local Ag groups.
WSAU News will be at the Kleefisch and Evers events on Monday and will have more on their announcements both on-air and online throughout the day.
