WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The 2022 Wisconsin Valley Fair lineup begins with a patriotic boom.
Organizers announced this morning that Lee Greenwood will open the fair Tuesday, August 2nd along with a fireworks show. The ACM and CMA-winning songwriter is best known for his single “God Bless the USA” and has released nearly 20 albums spanning three decades.
He found success in the 1980s with three certified gold albums. His 1992 album American Patriot was certified platinum, his best performing album of all.
Musical acts continue Wednesday, August 3rd with Carly Pearce- the 2022 ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. Pearce burst onto the county and bluegrass scene in 2017 with her single “Every Little Thing.” Her collaboration “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice was certified double platinum by the RIAA.
Classic rock takes center stage on Thursday, August 4th with .38 Special. Best known for their early hits “Rocking Into the Night” and “Hold on Loosely.”
PRCA Rodeo action will take over the grandstand on Friday and Saturday the 5th and 6th, and the fair will wrap with a demolition derby on Sunday.
The 2022 Wisconsin Valley Fair will run from August 2nd-7th in Marathon Park in Wausau.
