WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Salvation Army wants to expand its Wausau facilities.
Their focus will be to keep up with a growing need to serve families.
A community needs assessment showed the community’s desire for more family housing and resources. The charity will close on the purchase of the former credit union building on South Avenue next month. The location of the new building was another community request.
“One of the things the community needs survey said, was they wanted us to remain downtown. They thought it was essential for us to remain near to where we are,” said Ann Chrudinsky, Development Director for the Wausau Salvation Army.
The plans are still in the preliminary stages and are expected to take a few years to complete.
