RHINELANDER, WI — Seth Wakefield, the man accused of helping Christopher Terrell Anderson plot the killing of Hannah Miller in 2021 was in court on Tuesday.
Attorneys for both sides said they are not near a plea deal, but will reconvene for another status update on June 27th. A four-day trial beginning September 6th remains on the calendar.
Jail staff says that the 25-year-old is refusing to take his medication. His defense team will be meeting with him next week and they will bring up competency if needed.
Judge Patrick O’Melia said he can order the medication to be given involuntarily if he has to.
Wakefield is accused of knowing about Anderson’s plans, which included killing Miller and her parents and then taking the child the two had together. Wakefield is said to have monitored Miller’s apartment to see when she would be home.
When asked why he didn’t go to the police regarding Anderson’s alleged plans, Wakefield said he didn’t think that was any of his business.
Anderson is scheduled to go to trial on charges of first-degree intentional homicide in August. There will be a motion hearing in his case on May 19th.
