GRANT TOWNSHIP, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Someone illegally dumped used tires in Grant Township.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Department says nearly 500 tires were discovered in at least five piles at the Okray Family Farms last week.
Investigators say some of the old tires were near drainage ditches.
A witness told deputies he observed a truck towing a trailer with tires in it– near the farm– on May 10. The truck was a blue S-15 GMC with an 8-foot box. It has rust on the passenger side and a small yellow sticker on the rear of the driver-side window. It was hauling a red trailer with a black stripe.
