WAUSAU, Wi (WSAU) –The Fond du lac Dock Spiders took their second win of the season against the Wausau Woodchucks with a 10-2 victory.
Nick Mitchell (Western Illinois University) continued his success at the plate with a single in the fifth inning and a double in the seventh scoring two runs. Cole Messina (University of South Carolina) went 2 for 4 at the plate driving in the first run of the sixth inning with a double to right field. Luke Novitske (California State University, East Bay) contributed to the lead with a single, scoring two runs in the sixth inning and 3 RBI overall.
The Wisconsin Rapid Rafters were able to take their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over the Green Bay Rockers.
Marco Castillo (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) started the game off by hitting a home run in the second inning giving the Rafters their first run of the game. Ben Ross (Notre Dame College) was able to provide insurance runs by hitting a two run home run in the seventh making the score 3-0.
Michael Lindsey (Midland College) who had the win on the mound started the game throwing 5 innings with eight strikeouts. Logan Schulfer (University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee) came into the game in the sixth inning as the relief pitcher and threw the remaining 4 innings with five strikeouts.
