WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Schofield man accused of lying on a voter registration form skipped a court appearance on Thursday.
Court records show that Timothy Hedstrom did not appear before Judge Susanne O’Neil as scheduled despite being given notice of the hearing. She then authorized an arrest warrant for him.
The 45-year-old is said to have completed an online voter registration form in August of 2020, saying he was not serving a sentence for a felony conviction. However, at the time he was on probation for a suspended sentence handed down in a felony theft case.
Investigators say he was interviewed about the registration but said he didn’t remember answering the question and didn’t know he was not allowed to vote.

Should he be found guilty, he could be sentenced for both election fraud and the previous theft case. No further court action was immediately scheduled
