MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Padres starter Joe Musgrove took a no-hitter into the 8th inning as the Milwaukee Brewers fell to San Diego 7-0 on Friday.
Musgrove walked three and recorded six strikeouts over 7.2 innings before Kolten Wong broke up the no-no bid with a double. He would manage to close out the inning before turning the game over to Craig Stammen for the 9th.
Corbin Burnes was once again roughed up early, he went just 3.2 innings in the start and allowed eight hits and five earned runs. Hoby Milner allowed one run in one inning of relief.
Manny Machado recorded a three-run home run in the 4th off Burnes. Jurickson Profar added three hits, two RBI, and a run scored for the Friars.
