MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — For the second day in a row the Milwaukee Brewers failed to push a run across against San Diego.
Former first-round draft pick MacKenzie Gore threw six innings and allowed just three hits with ten strikeouts to lead his club to a 4-0 win at American Family Field Saturday. The Brewers did manage three hits in the innings that followed but failed to take advantage.
Milwaukee went 0-9 with runners in scoring position for the game. Rowdy Tellez led the way at the plate going 2-3, no other Brewer had more than one hit.
Keston Hiura went 0-4 with four strikeouts and left four runners on base.
Aaron Ashby took the loss on the mound.
Milwaukee looks to break their scoring drought this afternoon when the same two teams go at it for the final time this season. Pregame coverage begins at 12:35 on WSAU.
