Jesus Contreras Perez
NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of killing Cassandra Ayon in the fall of 2020 has been found guilty of three counts related to the case.
Court records show Jesus Contreras Perez was found guilty by a jury for counts of first-degree intentional homicide, stalking, and hiding a corpse.
The couple was said to have been in an abusive relationship, with Ayon telling friends that she felt threatened by him after she broke things off. Her body still hasn’t been found, though investigators say there has been no bank account or cell phone activity associated with her since her disappearance. Additionally, there’s no sign that she’s left the country.
Ayon and her vehicle went missing in October of 2020 as she was leaving a friend’s home in Unity.
The jury returned the verdicts Friday evening on what was scheduled to be the last day of the trial. A sentencing date has not been set.
