WASHINGTON, DC (WSAU) — Christian Yelich belted his 6th homer of the year and recorded three hits in all, but Milwaukee’s struggles continued as the Brewers fell to Washington 8-6 on Saturday.
Yelich led all hitters, going 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Victor Caratini went 2-3 with a walk and a run scored.
The remainder of Brewer’s 11 hits were scattered among six different batters, including pinch hitter Jace Peterson who singled in the 8th but was stranded on base.
Eric Lauer took the loss for the Brewers after allowing seven hits and eight runs in five innings. Relievers Peter Strzelecki, Hoby Milner, and Devin Williams were able to stop the bleeding over the next three innings but the offense failed to catch up.
The same two teams will wrap up their set in Washington this afternoon. Pregame coverage begins at 12:00 on WSAU.
