CINCINNATI, Ohio (WSAU) — Keston Hiura’s solo homer in the 7th inning broke a 4-4 tie and led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-4 over the Reds Friday night at Great American Ballpark.
Hunter Renfroe hit a three run blast in the 4th inning and Willy Adames added a solo shot in the 5th. Eric Lauer was cruising with a four run lead but then gave up three home runs to Albert Almora, Tommy Pham and Brandon Drury that tied the game.
Lauer picked up the win as he pitched into the 7th. With Josh Hader not available it was Miguel Sanchez, Devin Williams and Brad Boxberger with 2 2/3 scoreless innings to nail this one down.
The Brewers are now 36-30 and will play the Reds this afternoon…pre game show at 2:35 on WSAU.
