BROOKLYN, NY (WSAU) — Former Badger and La Crosse native Johnny Davis heard his name called in the NBA draft on Thursday night.
He was chosen with the 10th pick by the Washington Wizards. Davis is the first Badger player drafted to the NBA since 2015 when Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker were both first rounders.
Davis, who left school after his sophomore season, was the Big Ten Player of The Year.
Also in the draft, The Golden State Warriors selected Patrick Baldwin who played his high school ball at Sussex Hamilton and spent one injury plagued season at UW-Milwaukee. He went at #28.
And the Milwaukee Bucks selected MarJon Beauchamp with the 24th selection. He was a player the Bucks targeted after playing with the Ignite team in the G-League. He averaged over 15 points per game and shot 30% from three point-range.
