WAUSAU, Wi (WSAU) — The Wausau Woodchucks took their 14th win of the season against the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-6.
The Woodchucks rallied back to score their first runs in the sixth inning with an RBI double by Michael Brooks (University of Central Florida) and an RBI single by Zach Levenson (University of Miami). They each had two RBI on the night.
Mark Shallenberger (University of Evansville) went four for five with one RBI and scored twice as he reached base. Carter Heninger (San Jose State University) closed the game and had the win on the mound throwing two innings with four strikeouts.
Wausau hosts the Chinnooks again tonight.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters rallied back to win the first game of the series against the Kenosha Kingfish 7-5.
Ben Ross (Notre Dame College) scored the first run of the game with a home run in the first inning. Ross had two RBI, a stolen base and scored twice as he reached base.
With a tied game going into the eighth inning the Rafters scored their final two runs on two RBI doubles by Harry Owen (Consumnes River College) and Chris Conniff (St. John’s University).
The Rafters play at Kenosha again tonight.
