MOSINEE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The City of Mosinee has announced the results of its most recent round of PFAS testing. The city says one of its two operating wells has elevated levels of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).
Despite this, operational changes instituted since the first round of testing resulted in levels below the current health advisory levels in the city’s drinking water.
The City will continue to run both wells together and continue collecting samples to ensure PFAS levels remain below health-advisory limits.
The state’s guidelines for forever chemicals in drinking water is 70-parts-per-trillion. Stricter guidance from the federal EPA was released earlier this month.
Full results can be found on the city’s website.
