PITTSBURGH, PA (WSAU) — Brian Reynolds homered off Devin Williams in the 9th inning and the Pirates rallied for an 8-7 win over the Brewers Wednesday night at PNC Park.
Williams had not allowed a run in his last 30 outings and was pitching in the 9th inning, a spot usually reserved for Josh Hader who had been traded to San Diego earlier this week.
Freddy Peralta started for Milwaukee and went 3.2 innings giving up two runs with 3 Ks in his first game back off the IL. Jake McGee and newly acquired Matt Bush each gave up two runs in the middle innings and Brent Suter gave up a home run to Oneil Cruz.
Willy Adames had four RBIs for Milwaukee. Rowdy Tellez drove in two and Kolten Wong had an RBI.
Milwaukee is now 57-47 and 1 1/2 game up on St. Louis. They’ll finish up their series in Pittsburgh with day baseball today…pre game show at 11am on WSAU.
