MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A two home run, three RBI day from Andrew McCutchen lifted the Brewers to a 5-3 win over the LA Dodgers on Thursday afternoon.
Hunter Renfroe added a two-run shot to go with McCutchen’s pair, with the two players accounting for five of the six Brewers’ hits on the day.
Christian Yelich added a single.
Corbin Burns was the winning pitcher despite allowing six hits and three earned runs. Devin Williams nailed down his eighth save of the season with three strikeouts in the 9th.
The two sides split the four-game set. Milwaukee is now 63-54 on the season, and still in second place in the NL Central. Milwaukee is also 1.5 games behind San Diego for the 3rd and final Wild Card spot in the NL.
The Brewers will continue the day game trend on Friday in Chicago against the Cubs. Pregame coverage begins at 12:45 on WSAU.
