MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Bond was set at $100,000 for the suspect in a child sex-assault case that dates back to 2014.
Wyatt Symonds, 24, is accused of sexually assaulting two children. At the time of the allegations, he would have been a minor.
If he was 17 when the abuse took place, he could be tried as an adult.
The criminal complaint says two victims were under the age of 13. He is facing additional charges of incest and witness intimidation.
Symonds, a former corrections officer, is being held in the Lincoln County jail. He resigned from his job in Oneida County a day before criminal charges were filed.
He’ll return to court on September 7 for a probable cause hearing.
