PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) — Late home runs from Tyrone Taylor and Rowdy Tellez helped the Brewers top the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-6 in ten innings on Saturday.
Tellez’s solo shot in the 9th tied the game at 6, while Taylor led off the extra frame with a two-run shot that brought home placed runner Esteury Ruiz, his second tater of the game.
Victor Caratini added a two-out, two RBI double in the second inning to open the scoring for the Brewers.
Taylor led the offense going 3-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. DH Andrew McCutchen added two hits. Seven other players added one hit each including Caratini.
Both bullpens got a workout with starters Corbin Burnes and Madison Baumgartner both pitching five-plus innings. Neither factored in the decision.
Devin Williams picked up the win for the Brewers. Taylor Rodgers was credited with a save for pitching a perfect 10th with two strikeouts and a groundout. Placed runner Christian Walker failed to advance from second.
The back-and-forth game featured four ties and four lead changes.
