MILWAUKEE, Wi (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers built a lead and held on for a 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon at American Family Field.
Garrett Mitchell made a diving catch on a ball that would have tied the game in the 9th to protect a one-run lead after Devin Williams gave up two runs in the 9th.
Rowdy Tellez hit two home runs and drove in four whil Willy Adames homered and had two RBIs. Christian Yelich drove in the other run
Brandon Woodruff gave up two runs on five hits through six innings with 11 Ks. Williams picked up save number 12.
The Brewers are two games behind San Diego in the chase for the final wild card spot in the National League and have Monday off. They start a two game set at St. Louis on Tuesday.
