WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A sentencing date has been set for a Wausau man found guilty of possessing child pornography for a second time.
Marathon County Judge Rick Cveykus has scheduled a two-hour hearing for Travis Errthum on January 5th. That will follow a series of psychosexual examinations and a presentence investigation into the incident.
The 50-year-old was found guilty of 13 counts in June after pleading no contest as part of a deal. He had previously entered a plea of not guilty due to mental disease or defect.
A presentence investigation in the case had originally been scheduled to be completed within 45 days of the deal. But during a court hearing in mid-August, the defense team noted that the doctor the defendant wanted to see for the examinations was not available until November.
Judge Cveykus then agreed to push back sentencing into next year and ordered the defendant to cooperate with the investigation.
Errthum served ten years in prison for child porn charges from 2008 to 2018. The most recent charges stem from a Spring 2019 search of his cell phone and personal computer which turned up several videos and images of young girls.
