ST. LOUIS, MO (WSAU) — The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.
Despite banging out 10 hits and drawing four walks, Milwaukee only managed a Tyrone Taylor sac fly in the second inning.
Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina set a record with their 325th start as the Cardinal battery. Wainwright was able to work out of multiple jams including twice with the bases loaded.
Corbin Burnes went seven innings and gave up three runs on seven hits with 5 Ks. He falls to 10-7 on the season.
The Brewers stayed two games back of San Diego in the battle for the final wild card as the Padres lost in Seattle.
Milwaukee has the day off before beginning a weekend series with the New York Yankees on Friday night at American Family Field.
