FRIENDSHIP, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A man who was armed with knives while hiding under blankets and clothing has reached a plea bargain. Timothy Owensby, 36, of Grand Marsh, swung at sheriff’s deputies while being arrested in January.
An agreement between prosecutors and Owensby was announced during an appearance in Adams County court on Tuesday.
A plea hearing is scheduled for September 29th. where he will be sentenced on charges including first degree attempted homicide, resisting arrest, battery against a law enforcement officer, and resisting and obstructing an officer.
Owensby was wanted for a warrant in Sauk County. Deputies from both jurisdictions were looking for him at a home in Springville. The people who lived there said Owensby wasn’t inside. Deputies got permission to search the premises, and found him armed with knives and hiding under a bed. He surrendered after a stand-off that lasted more than a hour.
