WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A homeless man has entered a not guilty plea for charges of sexually assaulting a pre-teen.
Joshua Wells is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the girl over five years, beginning when she was just ten years old, leading to one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child including at least three violations of first or second-degree sexual assault.
The 41-year-old entered the plea Wednesday in Marathon County Court. His next hearing is scheduled for October 5th.
Charges were brought forward this summer after the girl turned 18. She said the crimes date back to 2013 and happened in her Kronenwetter home.
If found guilty Wells faces up to 40 years in prison.
