MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Marshfield Fire and Rescue has announced that they will receive $111,000 in state grant funding as part of Governor Evers’ recently-announced EMS Flex Grants.
“Coming out of this pandemic, our call volume has continued to rise. We are on pace for the busiest year we have ever had,” said Deputy Chief Steve Bakos. “This grant is extremely helpful for our department.”
According to a press release the department will use the money to purchase supplies and equipment.

The EMS Flex Grants were announced on September 20th. Over 440 providers across the state are sharing in $32 million in funding to help ease equipment and staffing issues. Governor Tony Evers marked the announcement with stops at EMS providers across the state, including one in Mosinee.
Money is being distributed from the state’s share of the American Rescue Plan.
