MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Devin Williams served up a two-run single in the 9th inning that provided the winning runs in Milwaukee’s 4-3 setback to the Miami Marlins on Saturday, putting a postseason birth on life support going into the final week of the regular season.
Christian Yelich recorded a solo home run. Victor Caratini brought home a run on a groundout in the 6th, and Luis Urias was hit by a pitch to bring home a run.
Rowdy Tellez (2) and Hunter Renfroe (3) combined for five of the Brewers’ seven hits on the day.
With four games remaining in the regular season the Brewers’ elimination number stands at 4. That means they must win all of their remaining games, and get a four-game losing streak from the Philadelphia Phillies.
On the American League side, all six Postseason births have been claimed. Division Champions include the Houston Astros, New York Yankees, and Cleveland Guardians. The Wild Card teams are Toronto, Seattle, and Tampa Bay.
Milwaukee rounds out the series with the Marlins this afternoon, coverage moves to 93.9 The Game to make way for Packers football.
