WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The man who killed a woman in Weston back in April of 2021 has reportedly reached a plea deal with Marathon County prosecutors.
David Morris was charged with numerous offenses including first-degree intentional homicide in the stabbing death of Renee Hindes on April 23rd of last year at an apartment on Ferge Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Morris was shot by police during the incident and after recovering has been in jail on a $1 million bond.
The 44-year-old has been in trouble before serving prison time on various charges. He was out on extended supervision at the time of the Hindes murder.
Details of the plea deal have not been released but the homicide charge carries an automatic life sentence. Judges do have the ability to set a release date with supervision after at least 20 years have been served.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for January 17th
