COLUMBUS, OH (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Badgers opened the 2022-’23 Men’s Hockey season by diving right into conference play with a 3-1 loss to Ohio State.
The Buckeyes scored one goal in each period for the win. Wisconsin briefly clawed back into it with a late tally from Cruz Lucius in the third, but couldn’t make up any additional ground.
Ohio State outshot Wisconsin 45-30. Jared Moe went the distance in net and made 42 saves, taking the loss.
The same two teams will play again Saturday night in Columbus at 4 PM.
The Wisconsin womens hockey team beat St. Thomas 5-0 in WCHA action Friday night at a sold out LaBahn Arena.
Grace Shirley scored twice. Sarah Wozniewicz, Kirsten Simms and Clare Enright had the other goals. Cami Kronish had nine saves in net.
The Badgers, now 2-1, 1-0 in WCHA, will host St. Thomas again tonight at 6pm
The Wisconsin volleyball team plays at Purdue tonight at 7pm
