EVANSTON, IL (WSAU) — One week after a 2-3 start cost Paul Chryst his job, Wisconsin poured in 515 yards of total offense in a 42-7 Big Ten win on Saturday.
Graham Mertz went 20/29 for 299 yards and five touchdowns. Braelon Allen rushed for 135 yards and added a passing touchdown as well on a flea-flicker.
Chimere Dike led the receiving corps with 10 catches for 185 yards and three scores. Three other receivers caught touchdowns as well including Skyler Bell, Chez Melusi, and Markus Allen.
Defensive leaders were Nick Herbig with 7 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. Kamo’i Latu had three tackles and two interceptions.
Wisconsin levels their record at 3-3 on the season, 1-2 in the Big Ten. They head to East Lansing next week to take on Michigan State for a 3 PM kickoff. Pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 1.
