STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — One person was killed in a Wednesday morning crash along Interstate 39 near Stevens Point on Wednesday.
According to the state patrol, a 2019 Volkswagon driven by a 43-year-old woman entered the median and struck a bridge pillar at the 2nd street overpass.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and unresponsive when first responders arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles or passengers were involved in the incident, and the name of the driver has not been released.
