RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WXPR) -The snow and cold temperatures this week are a good reminder that winter isn’t too far off.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects people to pay up 28% more this winter compared to last. Kathy Blumenfeld is the Wisconsin Department of Administration Secretary-Designee. The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program is under the D-O-A. “Our goal and Governor Evers’s goal is to keep folks housed, safe, and warm during this winter and have the energy services that they need,” she said.
If you know that you won’t be able to afford your heating bills this winter, Blumenfeld encourages you reach out now for assistance. It can save you time on the application process later on if you end up needing it. “It’s really good to visit the energy services organization or your local cap agency to know and to understand and get knowledgeable and the program and services that are out there to help. But bottom line, don’t be afraid to ask for help.”
