UNDATED (MetroSource-WSAU) — The Yankees are meeting the Astros in the American League Championship Series. New York eliminated the Guardians with a 5-1 win in Game Five of the ALDS.
Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each launched home runs in the victory. The Yankees now face the team that beat them in their last two ALCS appearances in Houston. Game one is Wednesday night.
Elsewhere, the Phillies blanked the Padres 2-0 in Game One of the NLCS.
Zack Wheeler threw seven scoreless frames and allowed only one hit. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber both went deep to help Philadelphia take a 1-0 lead in the series.
