WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Officials with the City of Wausau are acknowledging that the city-wide leaf pickup is running behind for a variety of factors.
This includes some equipment breakdowns which were reported late last month. That caused a two-day pause in the process after a large item plugged up their baler.

Leaves also fell late this year.
According to a press release from the city, crews have finished the tan and east-side green sections and will begin work in the west-side green section and maroon sections later this week. To see the map, click here.
Due to the nature of the work and the current city budget, there is no guarantee that crews will be back for another pass through your neighborhood if they have already been through once. Those who have missed their pickup are asked to bring their leaves to the yard waste site, which will operate with extended hours. Anyone who is able is encouraged to use the site, especially if crews have already been through cleaning up leaves in the gutters.
