Maurice Bell
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man accused of shooting at a group of teenagers has entered a guilty plea to the charges.
Maurice Bell was in Marathon County court on Monday where he entered a guilty plea to two counts of recklessly endangering safety and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. As part of a plea deal, one additional count of second-degree recklessly endangering safety was dismissed.
He will be sentenced on February 24th.
Charges in the incident stemmed from a July 2019 incident where four teens were walking near Downtown Wausau. A vehicle, driven by Amanda Lewis, approached the teens and a passenger questioned them.
That passenger was Bell, who asked about an incident that had occurred a few days prior that involved the beating of another teen. Bell then fired several shots in the direction of the teens, who were not injured.
Those teens were all sentenced in relation to the beating. Lewis is also serving time for her role in the drive-by shooting incident.
