STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens hockey team beat St. Scholastica 2-1 on Saturday earning their first win of the season.
Andrew Poulias and David Hill had the Pointer goals. Matthias Smith had 24 saves.
The Pointers, now 1-1-2, will play St. Marys in Winona on Friday night.
The UWSP volleyball team dropped the WIAC title match with a four set loss at Whitewater. The scores were 20-25, 22-25, 25-23, 13-25.
Ashley Kopp had her 24th double-double of the season with 18 kills and 10 digs. Grace Michalske had 33 assists and nine digs. Emma Peterson and Kelsie Belfiori had 19 digs each.
The Pointers, now 25-7, await their NCAA fate. D-3 Tournament pairings will be announced at noon today.
The UWSP football team dropped a 45-0 game against UW-Oshkosh Saturday at Goerke Field. The Pointers travel to Whitewater to close out the season on Saturday.
