MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing back second-baseman Kolten Wong. The team picked up his $10 million club option for 2023.
Wong, who got the news at his home in Hawaii said he’s “super excited” and feels the team has “unfinished business”.
Wong will be 32 years old next season and has had two solid offensive seasons with Milwaukee but struggled on defense in 2022. He committed a career high 17 errors. He did hit a career high 15 home runs.
Milwaukee has $41.6 million in guaranteed contracts as free agency begins this week. It also has 18 players eligible for arbitration.
Milwaukee’s next deadline is later this week on Brad Boxberger. They hold a club option for $3 million on the reliever.
