WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A former Wisconsin Rapids School counselor has entered a plea for five counts related to the sexual assault of a student by school staff.
Christopher Bondioli entered a not guilty plea to all five counts on Wednesday including two charges each of child enticement leading to sexual contact and sexual assault of a student by school staff.
During a 30-minute hearing on Wednesday, a judge also denied a motion to modify the conditions of Bondioli’s bond, which was denied. He is free on a $5,000 cash bond under the conditions that he has no contact with two victims in the case and no contact with anyone under the age of 18 besides his own children.
The 52-year-old is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Lincoln High School, where he was employed. School officials say they were made aware of the relationship in January 2022, and he was immediately put on leave. The School Board accepted his resignation on February 14th.
Both sides will take the next three months to go over the evidence in the case, with the next hearing scheduled for March 20th. The court also indicated that date could be used for a plea hearing if needed.
