RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU) — Four people from Rhinelander are scheduled to appear in court today for charges of running a large-scale meth ring in the Northwoods.
David Lassiter, 39, Kimberly Baenen, 36, Ryan Culver, 37, and Jacob Simon, 41, are all expected to be charged with conspiracy to manufacture or deliver more than 50 grams of meth. Charges against them are the result of a six-month investigation.
The group is believed to have distributed more than ten pounds of the drug in the Rhinelander area, some of which tested positive for Fentanyl. Investigators add that they have records of a $25,000 payment from the group to a Mexican drug cartel that may have been used to purchase meth.
A stolen firearm was also recovered from the group as the result of the investigation.
A fifth person is wanted in connection with the meth ring. He’s been identified as 35-year-old Benjamin Somers. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office at 715-361-5100.
