The Wausau City Council will look to approve their 2023 budget and tax levy Tuesday night.
The budget features a 4.98% levy increase over 2022’s numbers, meaning it’s likely that property owners will see a small increase in their tax bills for the city portion.
The city budget is one of the final pieces of the 2023 tax bill to fall into place. The Wausau School District and Marathon County have already finalized their budgets for the new year.
Northcentral Technical college also has a portion of the tax bill. Of course, the Wisconsin State Lottery credit also factors into the final bill.
City leaders held a public hearing for the budget during last Tuesday’s meeting. No one spoke in favor or against the document.
Tuesday’s meeting begins at 6:30 and public comment is part of the agenda.
