NASSAU, BAHAMAS (WSAU) – The Badgers topped USC, 64-59, on Friday in the consolation game of the Battle for Atlantis tournament.
Wisconsin’s high-scorer, Chuckie Hepburn (17 points) secured the win with a steal and a basket with 10-seconds remaining.
The Badgers closed out the game on a 10-2 run, with Hepburn scoring 6 points down the stretch.
Tyler Wahl added 14 points and 9 rebounds for Wisconsin, who improve to 5-1 this season.
USC couldn’t hold a 7-point lead in a game that featured 7 lead changes. The Trojans went nearly 5-minutes without scoring late in the second half.
Wisconsin and USC both landed in the consolation game after tough losses in overtime on Thursday. The Badgers fell to defending national champions Kansas, 69-68. USC lost in OT to Tennessee.
Wisconsin plays Wake Forest Tuesday in the Big 10-ACC Challenge.
