WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The US Postal Service has announced shipping deadlines for Christmas and the rest of the upcoming holiday season.
USPS officials say when it comes to mailing items with the intent of having them under the recipients’ tree by December 24th, your best bet is to get them into the mail system as soon as possible. Packages sent after the following dates will not arrive on time:
- Dec. 9 — APO/FPO/DPO (all ZIP Codes) Priority Mail and First-Class Mail
- Dec. 16 — APO/FPO/DPO (except ZIP Code 093) USPS Priority Mail Express Military

- Dec. 17 — USPS Retail Ground service
- Dec. 17 — First-Class Mail service (including greeting cards)
- Dec. 17 — First-Class Package Service (up to 15.99 ounces)
- Dec. 19 — Priority Mail service
- Dec. 22 — Priority Mail Express* service
Officials encourage you to get your items mailed before these dates if possible, as the days leading up to Christmas are the busiest days of the year for post offices.
