MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers traded second baseman Kolten Wong to the Seattle Mariners on Friday. They got back outfielder Jesse Winker and infielder Abraham Toro.
The Brewers had exercised a $10 million team option on Wong in early November. The trade opens up second base for Brice Turang, one of the Brewers top minor league prospects.
Winker had a down year for Seattle after coming from Cincinnati. He hit .219 with 14 home runs and 53 RBIs. He battled injuries later in the season.
Toro is a 26 utility infielder, switch hitter and under team control until 2027.
