WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau residents will have two chances to make their thoughts on what should be included in the next two-year state budget this week.
Governor Evers will hold a virtual budget listening session on Wednesday followed by an in-person session on Thursday at the Maine Elementary School off County road K in Wausau.
Wednesday’s session will be held over Zoom and begins at 6 PM. Thursday’s in-person event will begin at 5:30 and is scheduled to last for 90 minutes.
This isn’t the first time the Governor has hosted a budget listening session in Wausau. In December 2018, he held a similar session at Wausau’s Labor Temple as Governor-Elect before crafting his first two-year budget.
Registration is required for both sessions. Residents can sign up for Wednesday’s session here, and for Thursday’s session at Maine Elementary here.
The sessions are part of a statewide tour. Next week the Governor will hold similar events in Superior and Eau Claire.
Evers is scheduled to deliver his budget address to the Legislature on February 15th at 7 PM.
