WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A trial has been scheduled for Martin Raatz, the Schofield man accused of inappropriately touching girls on multiple occasions last summer, as he was on probation for previous convictions.
Judge Marissa Wachtel scheduled a three-day trial from August 16th through the 18th. A final pre-trial conference will be held on July 10th, with a jury status update ten days before the trial begins.
The 25-year-old is accused of three felony counts of first-degree child sexual assault involving contact with someone under the age of 13 along with two misdemeanor charges of 4th-degree sexual assault. All carry repeat modifiers.
The most recent charges stem from incidents involving girls who lived in the same neighborhood as Raatz, who say he touched them on multiple occasions. Previous charges against him date back to 2015 and 2017. He served four years in state prison following his conviction in ’17.
Should he be found guilty at the August trial he could face additional prison time because of his previous probation.
