SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of strangling a woman to death last summer entered a not guilty plea to one count of first-degree intentional homicide.
Michael Ingold was in court on Wednesday to enter the plea. A judge then set a final pre-trial conference for April 18th.
Investigators accuse him of killing a 59-year-old woman in June of 2022. Autopsy results show the woman was strangled, though he has denied touching her.
Ingold and the woman were the only two home at the time of the incident, and investigators also note that there have been previous incidents between the two. That includes a case from 2021 in which he was accused of strangling her and operating a firearm while intoxicated.
A jury trial has not been scheduled. Ingold is being held on a $1 million bond.
