MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The University of Wisconsin, Northwestern University, and the Big Ten Conference have announced that Saturday’s men’s basketball game between the schools will not be played as scheduled.
Northwestern is battling a round of COVID-19 in its MBB program, which has prompted the move. Both schools are going to work with the league to find a makeup date for the contest.
It’s the second game that Northwestern has rescheduled in the last week. The Wildcats were supposed to play at Iowa on Wednesday, but that was postponed as well. The schools will make that game up on January 31st.
Wisconsin (12-5, 4-3 B1G) is now off until Wednesday, January 25th when they visit Maryland in College Park. Tip time is set for 6 PM CT, with pregame coverage that night starting at 5 on WSAU.
