MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A flurry of third-period goals lifted Wisconsin to a 4-0 shutout of nationally-ranked Ohio State on Friday at the Kohl Center.
Luke LaMaster opened the scoring early in the second to put Wisconsin up 1-0 after forty minutes. It was his first goal in a Badger uniform.
In the 3rd, the Badgers would cash in two power play goals from Tyson Jugnauth and Cruz Lucius, who has now recorded a point in seven straight games.
Jack Gorniak also found the back of the net. Jared Moe stopped all 22 shots on goal to earn the shutout.
Wisconsin improves to 10-13-0 on the season and 3-10-0 in Big Ten play. Ohio State, ranked in the top ten of both major men’s college hockey polls, is now 15-9-1 overall and 8-7-0 in league play.
The same two teams will go at it again tonight at the Kohl Center. Pregame coverage on WSAU begins at 6:30 PM.
